Who We Are

Barrow Consultancy was established to bridge the gap between East African country expertise and the legal, corporate, and institutional clients who need it. Law firms, NGOs, international organisations, and businesses often struggle to find reliable, vetted experts with genuine in-country knowledge and an understanding of what tribunals, courts, and institutional decision-makers require. We exist to solve that problem.

Legal Work Scene

Our Approach

We are not a generalist consultancy. Every expert in our network has been selected for their depth of knowledge, professional credibility, and ability to produce work that meets the standards required by UK tribunals, international courts, and corporate decision-makers. Our team includes practising solicitors with direct experience of immigration and asylum proceedings, which means we understand the needs of instructing parties from the inside.

Beyond legal services, we also work with international organisations including the United Nations, European Union, and other multilateral bodies on capacity building, justice sector reform, and legal development projects across East Africa. Our consultants bring both academic rigour and practical field experience to every engagement, whether that is producing an expert report for a tribunal or delivering a capacity building programme for a government institution.

Our Mission

To be the foremost expert consultancy network for East Africa, providing law firms, corporates, international organisations, and institutions with access to the highest quality country expertise, legal analysis, and development consultancy available.
